Make a hippo. I cut this one our for my little guy but then showed him the finished hippo so he could figure out the steps to glue the hippo together himself.  (Like all things that will not be reused, I choose to print this in grayscale to save my colored ink)

We made hats out of sandwich bags and decorated them with stickers and markers.  

Building a house with nails!  I thought this activity would have a lot of prep work but it maybe took me 5 minutes to get everything cut out and together for my two.  You will need a hole punch for this activity.  They had so much fun with this it was great fine motor practice putting the nails into the hole and good shape review too!

Letter H (weekly schedule)

This was the first week that I finally came up with a weekly schedule chart that I LOVE!  In our home, we do "homeschooling" Monday, Wednesday, and Fridays.  Tuesday and Thursday, Big Bro goes to preschool at a church down the street for 3 hours a day while Sweet Pea and I have some toddler time and run errands that are easier to do with just one kid.  Here is what our "H" week looked like....

If you download it into Word, you can see all the links are in the chart for you.  I'm going to be honest... this week, I overly planned and we didn't make it science time.  Overall, we did cover most of the activities and having it planned in advance was wonderful!  

Another side note- For center time- I usually have 3-4 activities on the floor that each child can do independently.  I put on some music and everything the song ends, they move to another center.  The activities listed below are the centers that I plan in advance and the other 2-3 stations I usually just throw in a puzzle or a train track or something like that.

Hard Hats anyone??

During our "H" week, I couldn't resist bringing out some hammers!  (Of course the morning of, I couldn't find the kids plastic toy hammers anywhere so we went with the real thing here people!)  

Using some of dad's golf tees, Big Bro hammered the letter H into a large piece of stifoam that I had saved in the garage.  (Make sure your piece is thick enough so the golf tees don't stick out the bottom when you are done hammering. If it isn't, do this activity outside on the grass) 

Sweet pea did the same thing with her piece using a toy drill.  

After we started this, Big Bro said, "Mom, I need my Home Depot apron and hard hat too!"  

This activity is a wonderful fine motor activity that kept my two busy several times during our "H" week!
