Letter I

Our Ii Week Schedule (click for our schedule with links!) Man did we have a fun "Ii" week!  I only focused on the short /I/ sound because I think it is sooo sooo sooo important to focus on one sound at a time, not just one letter at a time.  When my son came home from preschool and told me that the letter e is for eye doctor... I almost passed out!  Oh, but that is a different story!  Later on in the year, we will learn the long /I/ (like ice) and teach a few of the phonetic patterns like i_e that make that sound.  The main thing is that the child learns the sound.  We are focusing on reading, not spelling at this age.   I is for Inch  Inch by Inch  I couldn't find a ruler ANY where...
