Preschool Assessment

The teacher in me loves this time of year!  It's something about the crisp backpacks and sharpened pencils that just makes me want to go laminate something!  One thing I love about the beginning of the school year is assessing where students begin.  This is really only for my benefit to boost my pride at the end of the year to see just how far they have come and how much they have learned!  I do also find that sometimes I think they have mastered colors only to find out at the beginning of the year that they have had me fooled!  My 2 year old will be my main "homeschooler" this year and I was planning on starting at square one with her since her idea of "school" is... "Mama I just want to paint and color all day!"  I had all of our kid's names written on the easel and she walked right up and pointed to her name!  I had no idea that she could recognize her name!  Kids pick up more that you think!

Here are some basic assessments that you can do at home with your preschooler to see where the focus needs to be this year.  As always, if you have any other resources.. please add your link in the comment section and I would be happy to add it in!
